All About Advertising Signs
Advertising signs are more common than you might think. These advertising signs aren't just on billboards or by the road signs, or on marquees by the sides of grocery stores. They are almost everywhere. Basically every sign that you seen that isn't a traffic sign is probably an advertising sign. For example, advertising signs might say that there is a garage sale at a certain address this saturday, or they might be signs on telephone poles talking about a band which has an upcoming show downtown. But more thought goes into some of these advertising signs than others.
If you have a business, it might make sense to have your advertising signs printed by someone who specializes in it. Many of these companies even have inhouse designers who will make your advertising signs the spiffy looking, attractive things which will make sure that you get lots and lots of business. It is important that your printed advertisements have big bold letters which are clear to understand telling everyone where your event is located. It is important that they look clean and professional so that the people who see them will know that your company operates by high standards. It is also important to know your clients.
For example, if you run a rock and roll venue, your advertising signs must be hip and young to attract teenagers or twenty somethings to your club. Sometimes people who own such clubs opt to make something that looks rough, homemade, even crude, to show the teenagers that they are cool and scoff at convention, which will make them want to see the show. But don't be fooled. A lot of thought and careful design strategy goes into making of these advertising signs.
Of course, there is the case of WallDrug, a tourist trap in the middle of South Dakota, whose whole business was made by its advertising signs. They put up these signs thousands of miles away, saying things like “3,215 miles to Walldrug.” This generated what is called buzz – people wanted to find out what these advertising signs meant and what walldrug was, so they came there. They also wanted to be among the people to see this extraordinary tourist attraction, in the middle of nowhere with signs all around the world advertising it. If you've ver been there, as I have, the joke is on you. There really is nothing there, except souveneir shops and a lousy restaurant or too, but people keep coming because they were so successful with placing their advertising signs.
